Temporary Management

WE DON’T WATCH PROBLEMS. WE STEP INTO THE DYNAMICS AND SOLVE THEM

For WTCO, Temporary Management is not coaching and not a report to read. It means taking charge: we join the company with a role, a scope and measurable targets, and we answer for what happens on the shop floor, on the line and in the numbers. We focus on operations, with an emphasis on Lean and product and process quality.

Taking charge, not consulting.

We step into the company’s dynamics and take personal responsibility for them.

”Decide, execute, own the results.

THE THREE PRINCIPLES of our Temporary Management

We don’t bring theory: we bring management experience.

The same experience we apply every day in our own companies.

HANDS-ON, NOT OBSERVERS

We work on the floor: gemba, production meetings, customers, suppliers. We set priorities and follow execution through to closure.

INSIDE THE DYNAMICS

Operational problems are not only technical: they are habits, balances between departments, unclear responsibilities. We read them from the inside and act on them too.

DIRECT ACCOUNTABILITY

We run our own companies and answer for them every day. We know the weight of a late delivery, a scrapped part, a customer to win back: that is why we take responsibility for results.

OUR AREAS OF INTERVENTION

We cover key operations positions, either as an interim role to fill or as a transformation mandate with defined targets.

  • Plant and production management
  • Product and process quality
  • Lean Operations
  • Supply chain and suppliers
  • Turnaround and critical situations
  • Generational handover and integrations

Our Method

ON THE FLOOR

DIAGNOSE

The first weeks on the floor: real numbers, bottlenecks, people. It ends with priorities and KPIs agreed with the owners.

TAKE CHARGE

We take on the role with clear authority. We secure deliveries, quality and critical customers before anything else.

STABILIZE

Work standards, management routines and visible indicators: the department is back under control.

IMPROVE

Lean and quality systems applied to processes together with the internal team: VSM, 5S, SMED, TPM, problem solving.

HAND OVER

KPI review against the starting point and handover to an internal manager, whom we help select and train.

Our fee model

FIXED + SUCCESS

A fixed part. A part tied to results.

We work as a team, with a fee made of two components: a fixed part covering the operational presence and a success fee tied to KPIs agreed before we start, such as line efficiency, scrap, on-time delivery, complaints and conversion cost.

It is the simplest way to show we believe in what we propose: if results don’t come, we pay for it too.

WHY IT PAYS OFF for your company

A time-bound commitment, with a defined scope and a cost tied to the value created.

TARGETS WRITTEN BEFORE WE START

Starting point, indicators, targets and measurement methods are defined together and written into the contract.

ALIGNED INTERESTS

Our fee grows only if your results grow. No incentive to drag things out.

NO RECRUITMENT COST

Operational much faster than a traditional search, with no long-term commitment.

”WE RUN COMPANIES EVERY DAY. WE KNOW RESULTS HAVE TO BE EARNED: FIXED + SUCCESS IS OUR FORMULA.

Temporary Management in operations: what it is and when you need it

Temporary Management means bringing an experienced manager into the company for a defined period, in an operational role with direct responsibility for results. WTCO applies it to operations: production, quality, Lean and supply chain.

When to bring in a temporary manager

  • A key position is vacant and recruitment would take too long
  • Scrap, complaints or late deliveries are damaging customer relationships
  • You need to launch a new product or line, or pass a certification audit
  • The company is going through a generational handover, an acquisition or a reorganisation

What sets us apart

We are not external consultants: we run companies and bring that experience into yours. We work with a fixed + success formula: a fixed part and a success fee tied to results, measured on KPIs defined before we start.

Frequently asked questions

How long does an assignment last? It depends on the mandate: duration is set after the diagnosis, together with the KPIs.

How is the success fee calculated? On objective indicators, measured with the company’s own tools and compared with the starting point.

What is left at the end? Standardised processes, active indicators and an internal person able to manage them.
